Plans are not open yet.

Nothing here can be bought today. This page is the plan as it stands, published early so it can be argued with. Everything described below is free right now.

Most of this site is free, and stays free

Exploring the map and comparing counties work with no account at all. Everything else needs one, and an account is free — it is what carries your character between devices and posts to the forums.

Expenses and marketplace listings can be typed in by hand, unlimited, and none of that costs us anything each time you use it. So none of it sits behind a plan.

The free tools are the ones that save you money

The Treasury keeps an itemised record of what you actually spent, category by category, against what you estimated it would be. That is how you find out the $400 food budget is really $520. It never rewrites your estimate on its own — it shows you both numbers and how many receipts are standing behind them.

The Dashboard turns that into a runway: how many months your savings cover where you live now, and how many they would cover in the county you are aiming at.

The Marketplace ledger is the earning side. Record what you listed, what sold and for how much, and route the proceeds straight into your savings in one tap. Writing the listing is free too — type it, or paste in a draft you wrote elsewhere.

Every one of those is unlimited, and none of them costs us anything when you use it. That is why none of them sits behind a plan.

A plan buys one thing: the version that reads a photo for you

Point a camera at a receipt and get the line items back. Point it at a couch and get a listing draft back. Both send the photo to an outside AI service that charges us for the image going in and for the text coming back — around half a cent each time, billed fresh, every time.

It is the only part of running this site that grows with how much you use it, which is why it is the only part behind a plan. The by-hand version of both stays free and always will, so a plan buys speed, never access.

Yearly

$10per year

25 photo scans a month

Two dollars a year cheaper, and ten more scans a month. The reason is below.

Why the yearly plan scans more

The yearly plan costs less and scans more. That looks backwards, so here is the actual reason.

Card processors take a flat fee on every single charge, on top of their percentage. Collecting a dollar twelve times a year costs us several times more than collecting ten dollars once. So a yearly subscriber pays us less and we keep more of it.

That gap is the whole reason for the two numbers. The yearly plan leaves more room for scans because less of it goes to the card processor — not because scans are being held back to sell you an upgrade.

Either way, nothing locks when you reach the cap. Typing an expense or a listing in by hand works exactly the same, and always will.
